Synopsis As Introduced Amends the School Code. Increases the maximum number of new participants that may be in the Alternative Teacher Certification Program each year from 260 to 500. In the provision concerning the employment requirement, removes the minimum period of time that the person must have been employed. Effective July 1, 2005.

House Floor Amendment No. 1 Restores the provision that requires a person to have been employed for a period of at least 5 years in an area requiring application of the individual's education in order to be issued a provisional alternative teaching certificate.
