Synopsis As Introduced Amends the Department of Public Health Powers and Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Sets forth the General Assembly's findings concerning breast cancer patient education. Provides that the Director of Public Health shall provide for the planning and implementation of an education campaign to inform breast cancer patients, especially those in racial and ethnic minority groups, anticipating surgery regarding the availability and coverage of breast reconstruction, prostheses, and other options. Provides that the campaign shall include the dissemination, at a minimum, on relevant State health Internet websites, including the Department of Public Health's Internet website, of certain information. Provides that beginning no later than 2 years after the effective date of the amendatory Act and continuing each second year thereafter, the Director shall submit to the General Assembly a report describing the activities carried out under the provision concerning breast reconstruction education during the preceding 2 fiscal years, including evaluating the extent to which the activities have been effective in improving the health of racial and ethnic minority groups.
