Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Liquor Control Act of 1934. Provides that no alcoholic liquor that combines alcohol with caffeine, guarana, or other similar substances that are commonly referred to as "caffeinated alcohol beverages" may be imported into the State or produced, manufactured, distributed, sold, or offered for sale in this State by a licensee under the Act. Makes other changes.

House Committee Amendment No. 1
Provides that no caffeinated or stimulant-enhanced malt beverage shall be offered for sale in the State of Illinois. Provides that a person who violates the prohibition shall be subject to a penalty of not more than $1,000. Defines "caffeinated or stimulant-enhanced malt beverage". Deletes all other provisions that prohibit the importing, producing, manufacturing, distributing, or selling of "caffeinated alcohol beverages".
