SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Dale Lee Hofer Sr. of Moline, who passed
4away on December 18, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dale Hofer Sr. was born in Rock Island to Ben and
6Rose Hancq Hofer on November 19, 1946; he served with the
7United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded a
8Purple Heart; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Dale Hofer Sr. worked for Case in Bettendorf,
10Iowa, where he worked for over 30 years, retiring from the East
11Moline plant in 2004; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Dale Hofer Sr. enjoyed dirt track racing, which
13was a family affair; he was a fan of NASCAR and many other
14sports; he loved to read, play cards, attend car shows, and
15listening to classic rock music; he enjoyed spending time with
16his family and loved dancing and joking around; he enjoyed his
17trips to the East Moline Maid-Rite, and his days were not
18complete without a Pepsi and a Hershey's candy bar or a Reese's
19peanut butter cup; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Dale Hofer Sr. was preceded in death by his
21parents and his infant sister, Debbie; and

1    WHEREAS, Dale Hofer Sr. is survived by his children,
2Melissa (Tony) Maynard, Angela Hofer (Brad Anderson), Crystal
3Hofer, Brooke (Tylor) Enstrom, Dale Hofer Jr., and Madilynn
4Hofer; his sister, Sherrie (Joe) Slininger; 11 grandchildren;
5two great-grandchildren; and his special friend, Deb;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Dale Lee Hofer Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Dale Hofer Sr. as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
