SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ardon R. "Ardie" Thompson of Silvis, who
4passed away on November 27, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ardon Thompson was born in Geneseo on May 30,
61943; he served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967; he
7married Ada Darlene Williams in Fort Hood, Texas on January 14,
81968; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ardon Thompson was employed with Case
10International Harvester (IH) as an assembly lineman for 36
11years, retiring on July 1, 2002; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ardon Thompson enjoyed collecting trains and
13going to car shows; he also loved going out to eat with his
14family and his special friend, Sandy; he especially looked
15forward to Saturday mornings when he would meet up with his
16fellow retirees for breakfast; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Ardon Thompson was preceded in death by his wife,
18Darlene; his mother, Bernice Ockee Thompson; his
19brother-in-law, Wade Williams; and his mother-in-law, Helen
20Williams; and

1    WHEREAS, Ardon Thompson is survived by his significant
2other, Sandra Wenz; his daughter, Kim Thompson; his brother,
3Ron (Pat) Thompson; his sisters, Zelda (Jimmy) Cowan, Diane
4"Toot" (Alan) Deets, and Carolyn (Bill) Neal; and many nieces,
5nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Ardon R. "Ardie" Thompson, and extend our sincere condolences
9to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
10it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Ardon Thompson as an expression of
13our deepest sympathy.
