SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Louvenia Peters; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Louvenia Peters was born in Alexander, Arkansas to
5Willie Emma and Peter Glaze on September 12, 1932; she was
6baptized at Sharon Baptist Church in Alexander and later
7relocated to Chicago, where she joined Mount Zion Missionary
8Baptist Church; she married William E. Peters; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Louvenia Peters joined Pleasant Ridge Missionary
10Baptist Church and then attended Rock of Ages; she rejoined
11Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Louvenia Peters was known as "Mother Peters" or
13"Granny" to all; she loved her family dearly and often shared
14family stories with her children; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Louvenia Peters was preceded in death by her
16parents; her husband, William; her son, William M. Peters; her
17sister, Dorothy (AC) Wallace; her siblings, Fred, Jake, William
18Henry, Calvin, Ora Lee, Zue Ella, and Thelma; and a host of
19extended family and friends; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Louvenia Peters is survived by her children, Linda

1Evans, Eric Peters, Tracy (Herman) Morris, Valerie Taylor, Lisa
2Peters, and William M. Peters; her grandchildren, Dana, Tasha
3(Carl), Tashaunda (Brandon), Alexandra (Keir), Erica
4(Dominique), Sheena, Sondra (William), William Jr., and Bria;
5and her great-grandchildren, Carlotta, Jordan, Amaya, Dariel,
6Tyler, Brenton, Amani, Keir Jr., Chase, and Patricia;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Louvenia Peters, and extend our sincere condolences to her
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Louvenia Peters as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
