SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Michael Richard Valinoti of Vernon Hills,
4who passed away on November 8, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Michael Valinoti was born in Brooklyn, New York to
6Dr. Joseph R. and Katherine J. Valinoti on April 30, 1931; he
7was raised in Brooklyn and Manhasset, New York; he graduated
8from Brooklyn Preparatory School, Fordham University with a
9Bachelor of Arts, the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy with a
10Bachelor of Science, and Rutgers University with a Master of
11Science in Pharmacy; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Michael Valinoti settled in Waukegan and worked as
13a pharmacist at Abbott Laboratories, and later at St. Therese
14and Victory Memorial hospitals; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Michael Valinoti enjoyed spending time with his
16family, traveling, reading, and baseball; he followed the
17Brooklyn Dodgers as a boy, and later, adopted the Chicago Cubs
18as "his" team, witnessing the Cubs win the World Series a few
19days before his passing; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Michael Valinoti was preceded in death by his
21parents; his wife of 49 years, Jacqueline; his brother, Dr.

1Joseph R. Valinoti Jr.; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a
2grandnephew; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Michael Valinoti is survived by his daughters,
4Victoria (Michael) Sakshaug, and Elizabeth (Thomas) McCarthy;
5his grandchildren, Joseph and Katherine Sakshaug, and Sylvia
6McCarthy; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews;
7and two great-grandnephews; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Michael Richard Valinoti, and extend our sincere condolences to
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Michael Valinoti as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
