SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kenneth E. Link, Sr., who passed away on
4September 25, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. was born on September 10, 1944
6in Warren County; his parents were Ralph Jr. and Mildred Chick
7Link; he married Frances E. Young on April 23, 1968 in Aledo;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. attended Sherrard High School;
10in 1965, he was drafted into the United States Army, serving in
11Germany until 1967; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. was employed at Civil
13Constructors in East Moline and Langman Construction in Rock
14Island for many years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. was a member of Teamsters Local
16No. 371 and a 48-year member of Laborers Local No. 309; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. loved listening to country
18music, especially his friend David Church, mowing the farm,
19tinkering with his equipment, and spending time with his
20family; and

1    WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. was preceded in death by his
2parents and his sister, Lois Brammer; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Kenneth Link, Sr. is survived by his wife,
4Frances; his son, Kenneth Link, Jr.; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn
5and Brayden Link; his former daughter-in-law, Barbara Link; his
6sister, Janet Mitchell; his brother, Hank (Mary) Link; his
7sister-in-law, Judy Willis; two uncles; one aunt; several
8nieces, nephews, and cousins, including a special niece, Carey
9(Andrew) Bancroft and their daughters, Elizabeth and Allison;
10his special friends, Laurence and Roberta Ward and Helen
11Carlson; and his cat, George; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
14family and friends, mourn the passing of Kenneth E. Link, Sr.;
15and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Kenneth Link, Sr. as an expression
18of our sympathy.
