SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Calvin K. Jensen of Milan, who passed
4away on August 29, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Calvin Jensen was born in Benton County, Iowa to
6Cal and Sara (Meskmen) Jensen on September 11, 1923; and
 
7    WHEREAS, During World War II, Calvin Jensen few 32 missions
8in a B-24 in bombardier group 467; he was awarded the
9Distinguished Flying Cross Air-Medal with 3 Oak Clusters and a
10Certificate of Valor; he retired from the National Guard
11helicopter unit in Mount Joy; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Calvin Jensen held several different jobs at the
13Rock Island Arsenal; he repaired electric loaders, was a train
14engineer, and a crane operator; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Calvin Jensen enjoyed golf, walking the Milan dike
16with his dog, and bird watching; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Calvin Jensen was preceded in death by his wife,
18Barbara Jensen; his parents; his daughters, Billie Hayward and
19Robyn Jensen; his sister, Lillian Fergusen; and his brother,
20Robert Jensen; and

1    WHEREAS, Calvin Jensen is survived by his son, Cal Jensen;
2six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; his brother,
3Bill Jensen; and his care-provider, Amber Matter; therefore, be
4it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Calvin K. Jensen, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Calvin Jensen as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
