SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Werner Schwarz of Moline, who passed away
4on September 5, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Werner Schwarz was born in Heide, Germany to
6Arnold and Margaretha Lievens Schwarz in 1933; he came to the
7United States aboard the S.S. America at the age of 20, without
8speaking a word of English; he became a naturalized citizen in
91959 and served two years in Korea with the United States Army;
10he married Delphine Ziegler in East Moline on April 30, 1966;
11and
 
12    WHEREAS, Werner Schwarz served as a carpenter and job
13superintendent for Willi Frank & Sons Construction Co. for 18
14years before joining the engineering department of Eagle Food
15Centers in 1971; he retired from Eagle as the construction
16supervisor in 1995; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Werner Schwarz was preceded in death by his
18parents and his sister, Erika Schwarz; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Werner Schwarz is survived by his wife of 50
20years, Delphine; his son, Chris (Jill) Schwarz; his daughter,
21Stacie Schwarz; his stepgrandson, Andrew Doll; his sister,

1Gerda Nagler; his brother, Volker (Ilona) Schwarz; his niece,
2Sabine Abu-Shagrah; and his nephews, Heiko Schwarz and Axel
3Schwarz; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Werner Schwarz, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Werner Schwarz as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
