SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Nick G. Padakis of Moline, who passed
4away on May 13, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nick Padakis was born in Carbon Cliff to George
6and Mary (Soto) Padakis on April 30, 1922; he served in the
7United States Army during World War II; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Nick Padakis was employed at the former Seaford's
9Clothing Co. in Rock Island; he was also a crossing guard for
10more than 15 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Nick Padakis was affectionately known as "Uncle
12Nick" to many; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Nick Padakis was preceded in death by his sister,
14Consuelo Campos; his brother-in-law, Raymond Sr.; his brother,
15Frank Padakis; his nieces, Estelle (Sally) and Esther; his
16brother-in-law, "Uncle Smokey"; his great-nephew, Brad; and
17numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Nick Padakis is survived by his special
19great-niece, Nicole Perez; his nieces and nephews, Gary and
20Dennis (Kathy); great-nieces and great-nephews; and

1great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
4Nick G. Padakis, and extend our sincere condolences to his
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
6further
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8presented to the family of Nick Padakis as an expression of our
9deepest sympathy.
