SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Carl L. Gargano of Moline, who passed
4away on July 1, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carl Gargano was born on November 29, 1931 in
6Silvis; his parents were James and Maria Rando Gargano; he
7married Irene Olson on March 23, 1957 in Davenport, Iowa; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Carl Gargano served in the United States Navy
9during the Korean War; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Carl Gargano worked for the Chicago, Rock Island
11and Pacific Railroad as a machinist for 10 years; he retired
12from the John Deere Foundry in 1991 after 34 years of service;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Carl Gargano was a member of Veterans of Foreign
15Wars Post 8890 and the East End Club in Moline; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Carl Gargano loved visiting with people, cooking
17Italian dinners, fishing, hunting, and gardening; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Carl Gargano was preceded in death by his parents
19and his sister; and

1    WHEREAS, Carl Gargano is survived by his wife, Irene; his
2children, David Gargano, Cynthia Lewis, and Lori (Tony) Serra;
3his granddaughters, Ociana Lewis, Victoria (Daniel) Schoess,
4Olivia Serra, and Andria Serra; and his brother; therefore, be
5it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Carl L. Gargano; and
9be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Carl Gargano as an expression of our
12sympathy.
