SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Roger A. Schumacher of rural Erie, who
4passed away on June 13, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roger Schumacher was born on August 17, 1930 in
6Clinton, Iowa; his parents were Fred and Viola Rasmassen
7Schumacher; he first married Virginia Matthew and later married
8Dora Conchola; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Roger Schumacher served his country in the United
10States Army from 1952 to 1954 and was stationed in France; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Roger Schumacher was a lifelong farmer; he also
12worked for 30 years at International Harvester; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Roger Schumacher enjoyed building and flying
14airplanes; he was a member of the Erie Air Park; he also loved
15spending time on the river fishing and enjoying his houseboat
16in the summer months and spending his winters in Florida; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Roger Schumacher was preceded in death by his
18wife, Dora, and his sister, Delores DeGroot; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Roger Schumacher is survived by his daughter,

1Janice (James) Graszer; his brother, Dallas Schumacher; his
2special friend, Harriet Vrchoticky; his grandchildren, Jim
3(Chrissy) Graszer, Jr., Michael Graszer, and Christy Graszer;
4and his great-grandson, Xander Graszer; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Roger A. Schumacher;
8and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Roger Schumacher as an expression of
11our sympathy.
