SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of J. Mark Amacher of Rock Island, who
4passed away on June 15, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, J. Mark Amacher was born on August 4, 1938 in
6Marshfield, Wisconsin; his parents were Edward and Cenayda
7Suter Amacher; he married Susan M. Stahl on April 4, 1964 in
8Sandwich; and
 
9    WHEREAS, J. Mark Amacher attended Wisconsin State College
10in Stevens Point and Whitewater, Wisconsin (now known as the
11University of Wisconsin) and graduated from the University of
12Maryland with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration;
13after college, he joined the United States Marine Corps; and
 
14    WHEREAS, J. Mark Amacher was employed in the financial
15industry for over 45 years; he worked for Black Hawk Federal
16Savings and Loan, American Bank, and the Rock Island Bank;
17prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a banker with
18IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union; and
 
19    WHEREAS, J. Mark Amacher was a member of St. Matthew
20Lutheran Church in Milan and the Marine Corps League; he also
21served as president of the Rock Island Kiwanis Club and of Tau

1Kappa Epsilon during his junior year of college; and
 
2    WHEREAS, J. Mark Amacher was a lifelong Green Bay Packers
3and Chicago White Sox fan; he enjoyed collecting baseball
4cards, volunteering at Toys for Tots for 10 years, and walking
5Civil War and World War battlefields; and
 
6    WHEREAS, J. Mark Amacher was preceded in death by his
7parents; his brothers, Armond and Farrell Amacher; and his
8sisters, Marilyn Whelihan and Jean Bremer; and
 
9    WHEREAS, J. Mark Amacher is survived by his wife of 52
10years, Susan; his son, Bryce (Anne Marie) Amacher; his
11grandchildren, Alexandra and Andrew Amacher; and his siblings,
12Bernice Amacher, Janice Smith, and Phyllis Smith; therefore, be
13it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
16family and friends, mourn the passing of J. Mark Amacher; and
17be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of J. Mark Amacher as an expression of
20our sympathy.
