SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald D. Bullock, who passed away at the
4age of 73; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ronald Bullock began his career with the Bison
6Gear and Engineering Corporation in 1981, serving in research
7and development, engineering, marketing, operations, and
8general management roles before acquiring Bison in 1987; as
9owner of Bison, he led the company through unprecedented growth
10while simultaneously expanding the company's product line and
11distribution channels and introducing the company into the
12European market; he also championed Bison's customer-focused
13approach while driving a culture of continuous improvement; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ronald Bullock was a dedicated proponent for
15American manufacturing; he recently completed a two-year term
16as Chairman of the Manufacturing Institute, a think tank
17affiliated with the National Association of Manufacturers, for
18which he also served on the board of directors; he also served
19as Chairman of the Illinois Manufacturing Association and the
20IMA Education Foundation, and was a founder of the Illinois
21P-20 Council; and
 
22    WHEREAS, Ronald Bullock concentrated on the importance of

1continuing education and community outreach; BisonCares, a
2charity organization operated through Bison, recently
3celebrated its 10-year anniversary of providing services and
4support to local charities; he also funded several scholarship
5programs through the IMA Education Foundation and offered
6financial support to children of Bison associates attending
7college through the Bullock Family Scholarship; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ronald Bullock is survived by his daughter, Laurel
9Novak; his daughter-in-law, Kelly Burch; his brother-in-law,
10John Stewart; seven grandchildren; and his many friends and
11family at Bison; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
14family and friends, mourn the passing of Ronald D. Bullock; and
15be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Ronald Bullock as an expression of
18our sympathy.
