SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Rosemary "Rosie" Shea, who passed away on
4May 22, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rosemary Shea was born in Moline to Patrick and
6Lucienna Quigley on April 11, 1932 and raised in Davenport,
7Iowa; she attended Sacred Heart School and was part of the ICA
8graduating class of 1950; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Rosemary Shea worked at the College of St. Francis
10and spent a great deal of time volunteering at the Daybreak
11Shelter; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Rosemary Shea was a longtime member of St.
13Patrick's Parish in Joliet; she enjoyed spending time with her
14family and friends; one of her favorite traditions was the 22
15summers she spent in Union Pier, Michigan on the lake with her
16family; she also enjoyed attending family sporting events and
17activities for all of her children and grandchildren; some of
18her favorite times were spent at the Braidwood Recreational
19Club; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Rosemary Shea was preceded in death by her
21parents, and her brother-in-law, Jim Shea; and

1    WHEREAS, Rosemary Shea is survived by her husband of 60
2years, Gene Shea; her children, Debbie (Mike) Wittmann, Mike
3(Roxanne) Shea, Teresa (Brent) Ostoich, Dave (Rita) Shea, Jeff
4Shea (Sullivan Hester), Kathy (Bill) Duffy, John (Amy) Shea,
5and Karen (Mike) Sheppard; her grandchildren, Michael,
6Colleen, and Kathleen Wittmann, Megan, Kelly, and Ryan (Sofia
7Shea-Kvist) Shea, Kevin, Nicholas, Julia, Connor, and Madeline
8Ostoich, Rob (Heather) Hamilton, Christina (Aaron) Manheimer,
9Collin and Caitlin Shea, Reilly and Beckett Shea, Jack, Shea,
10Patrick, and Kate Duffy, Colleen and Ella Shea, and Seamus,
11Casey, and Kaleigh Sheppard; her great-grandchildren, Ben,
12Ellia, and Brooklyn Hamilton, and Noah Manheimer; her sister,
13Beverly Quigley; and her sisters-in-law, Roseann and Pat Shea;
14therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17Rosemary "Rosie" Shea, and extend our sincere condolences to
18her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
19further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Rosemary Shea as an expression of
22our deepest sympathy.
