SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Roscoe "Dallas" Davenport of Silvis, who
4passed away on May 7, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport was born in Greene Township to
6Roscoe Vance and Gladys Brown Davenport on April 17, 1939; he
7served in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965 and
8married Jeanne Sanquist on December 16, 1966; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport worked as a skilled tradesman for
10J.I. Case in Bettendorf, Iowa for 23 years; he also worked at
11the Rock Island Arsenal for several years before retiring in
121995; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport was a member of United
14Presbyterian Church and the Moline American Legion Post No.
15246; he was an avid fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Cubs, and
16the Fighting Illini; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport was preceded in death by his
18parents; his two sisters, Marilyn Smith and Martha Thorp; and
19his two brothers, Charles and Benjamin Davenport; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Roscoe Davenport is survived by his wife, Jeanne;

1his daughters, Denise (Greg) Hiner and Danielle Davenport; his
2three step-grandchildren, Anthony (Norrine) Hiner, Brett
3Hiner, and Cara (Daniel) Harksen; his two sisters, Mildred
4Price and Dorothy (Daryl) Lemon; his brother, Robert (Joanne)
5Davenport; and several nieces, nephews, and grand-animals;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Roscoe "Dallas" Davenport, and extend our sincere condolences
10to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Roscoe Davenport as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
