SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard Leo Boens of Coal Valley, who
4passed away on May 4, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Boens was born to Gustaf and Martha Rydell
6Boens on May 30, 1931; he served in the United States Army and
7married Donna Cook in Milan on August 14, 1954; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Richard Boens was a lifelong farmer; he also had a
936-year career with John Deere; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Richard Boens cherished his time with his family
11and friends; he loved traveling, fishing, hunting, and NASCAR;
12he loved watching his grandchildren grow and participate in
13sports; his leisure time was often spent at Mulligan's with his
14many friends; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Richard Boens was preceded in death by his parents
16and his brother, Harold "Bud" Boens; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Richard Boens is survived by his loving wife of
18nearly 62 years, Donna; his three children, Greg (Leah) Boens,
19Dorrie (Lance) Love, and Pam (John) Dobbels; his six
20grandchildren, Wade, Matt, and Carly Boens, Chelsey (fiance,

1Robert McDaniel) Love, Tashia (Alec) Kerins, and Maddie
2Dobbels; his brother, Robert (Cleo) Boens; his sister-in-law,
3Rosalee Boens; and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Richard Leo Boens, and extend our sincere condolences to his
7family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
8further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Richard Boens as an expression of
11our deepest sympathy.
