SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Larry Wayne Dolan of Moline, who passed
4away on May 1, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Dolan was born in Richland Center, Wisconsin
6to Wayne and Charlene Braithwaite Dolan on March 23, 1947; he
7served with the United States Army in Vietnam and married Mary
8Esser in Dubuque, Iowa on May 13, 1978; he married Marsha Cook
9Rodriguez in Davenport, Iowa on June 27, 1997; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Larry Dolan was a machinist at the Rock Island
11Arsenal for 33 years, retiring in 2014; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Larry Dolan was an avid softball pitcher for 40
13years; he won a national championship, was a six-time gold
14medalist in the Senior Olympics, and was inducted into the Quad
15City Hall of Fame; he was an Iowa Hawkeyes fan, loved attending
16his grandchildren's events, and enjoyed traveling and eating at
17Taco John's; he was a member of New Hope Church and the Milan
18VFW; he was a very social person who never met a stranger; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Larry Dolan was preceded in death by his first
20wife, Mary; his parents; and two brothers, David and Doug
21Dolan; and

1    WHEREAS, Larry Dolan is survived by his wife, Marsha; his
2five children and their spouses, Chad and Kathy Dolan,
3Stephanie McMillin, Erick and Kristi Rodriguez, Jeffrey and
4Chelsey Dolan, and Emilee and Kevin Harness; his nine
5grandchildren, Kyleigh, Ryann, Clason, Maelynn, Beckam,
6Jentzen, Evelyn, Emersynn, and Malia; and his siblings and
7their spouses, Paul and Evie Dolan, Colleen and Tony Montag,
8Jim and Judi Dolan, Peggy Dolan, Joanne and David Ridenour,
9Terry Dolan and Sue O'Neil, and Donna and Dan Atkinson;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13Larry Wayne Dolan, and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Larry Dolan as an expression of our
18deepest sympathy.
