SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Otto E. Ehm of Rock Island, who passed
4away on April 24, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Otto Ehm was born on June 30, 1929; his parents
6were Otto and Friederika Ehm; he married Beverly Bayness on
7June 29, 1950; she passed away on April 2, 1976; he later
8married LaDema Andrews on August 27, 1977; she passed away on
9June 18, 1994; and
 
10    WHEREAS, After finishing high school, Otto Ehm enlisted in
11the United States Marine Corps; he was later employed as an
12equipment specialist with the United States Army Weapons
13Command at the Rock Island Arsenal, where he retired in
14February of 1988 after 38 years of service; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Otto Ehm enjoyed golfing, working out at the Rock
16Island Fitness and Activity Center, traveling, dancing,
17reading, and attending the sporting events of his grandchildren
18and great-grandchildren; he was also an avid St. Louis
19Cardinals fan; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Otto Ehm was a member of the Moline American
21Legion Post 246, the Polka Club of Iowa, the Mississippi Valley

1Country Music Association, and the National Association of
2Retired Federal Employees; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Otto Ehm was preceded in death by his parents; his
4sister, Mary Margaret; his first wife, Beverly; and his second
5wife, LaDema; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Otto Ehm is survived by his son, William (Pam)
7Ehm; his stepdaughters, Barbara (Bill) Esp, Cheryl (Steve)
8Osborne, and Diane (Jim) Bailey; his step-grandchildren, Megan
9(Abe), Matthew, Danielle (Kevin), Derek, Lindsey, and Andrew;
10his grandchildren, DeAnna Bush, Angella (Lance) Dieterich, and
11Aaron Ehm; his great-grandchildren, Cheyenne, Cody, and Cierra
12Bush and Lane, Billie, and Taylor Dieterich; and his special
13friend, Joyce Geiger; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
16family and friends, mourn the passing of Otto E. Ehm; and be it
17further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Otto Ehm as an expression of our
20sympathy.
