SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Roland Gross of East Moline, who passed
4away on April 3, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Roland Gross was born in Davenport, Iowa to Albert
6and Mary Schmeil Gross on September 26, 1933; he served as a
7Corporal in the United States Army from June of 1953 until May
8of 1955; he married Marcella Theresa Stuttgen in Minneapolis,
9Minnesota on November 30, 1957; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Roland Gross worked as a truck driver for ABF
11Freight; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Roland Gross was a member of the Teamsters Union
13and the American Legion; he loved telling stories and jokes,
14westerns, and casino bus trips; he especially loved spending
15time with his family and seeing his grandchildren; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Roland Gross was preceded in death by his parents
17and his sister; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Roland Gross is survived by his loving wife,
19Marcella; his sons, Scott (Mai Anh) Gross, Brad (Joni) Gross,
20and Rod (Elaine) Gross; his daughters, Terri Warden and Roxanne

2great-grandchildren; and his daughter-in-law, Diana;
3therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
6Roland Gross, and extend our sincere condolences to his family,
7friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Roland Gross as an expression of our
10deepest sympathy.
