SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Alexander Peter Aldrian of Milan, who
4passed away on March 26, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Alexander Aldrian was born on July 26, 1936, in
6Sewickley, Pennsylvania; his parents were Alexius and Marie
7Mihalik Aldrian; he married Joan Victoria Debogovich on
8September 27, 1958 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Ambridge,
9Pennsylvania; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Alexander Aldrian graduated from Ambridge High
11School and Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh,
12Pennsylvania, where he earned his degree in metallurgical
13engineering; and
 
14    WHEREAS, After graduation, Alexander Aldrian worked in New
15Haven, Connecticut, where he engineered naval nuclear reactors
16before serving in the United States Army; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Alexander Aldrian became a registered
18professional engineer in Illinois in 1969; he was stationed at
19the Rock Island Arsenal for three years before working at the
20Arsenal in engineering and engineering management; he retired
21in March of 1988 after 31 years of service; and

1    WHEREAS, Alexander Aldrian was an active member of St.
2Matthew Lutheran Church in various capacities for many years;
3he enjoyed shooting on the Army Pistol Team while he was in the
4service, woodworking, camping, and reading; he was also an
5active ham radio operator for several years; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Alexander Aldrian was preceded in death by his
7daughter, Joan Carol; his son, Mark Alan; and his parents; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Alexander Aldrian is survived by his wife of 57
9years, Joan; his daughter, Laura Aldrian; and his
10granddaughter, Elise Lampella; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Alexander Peter
14Aldrian; and be it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Alexander Aldrian as an expression
17of our sympathy.
