SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jack N. Hobbs of Silvis, who passed away
4on March 21, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jack Hobbs was born on July 2, 1924 in Haleyville,
6Oklahoma; his parents were Jack B. and Edna Collins Hobbs; he
7married Eleanor Christensen on October 21, 1951 in Rock Island;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Jack Hobbs served two tours in the United States
10Navy during World War II and was in the United States Naval
11Reserve during the Korean War; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Jack Hobbs worked as an electrician for Rock
13Island Lines and Alcoa for many years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jack Hobbs was a 50-year Mason; he also won
15multiple awards for his master model ship building expertise;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jack Hobbs was preceded in death by his parents
18and his son, Jack B. Hobbs; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Jack Hobbs is survived by his wife, Eleanor; his

1children, Julie (John) Doy and Sue (John) Whipple; his
2grandchildren, Christy Rade, Jacob Doy, Andrew Whipple, Sarah
3Weller, Brandon Hobbs, Jack N. Hobbs, and Brianna Hobbs; and
4his great-granddaughter, Bobbi Weller; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Jack N. Hobbs; and be
8it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Jack Hobbs as an expression of our
11sympathy.
