SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert W. Johnson of Cordova, who passed
4away on March 7, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Johnson was born on January 1, 1929 in
6Moline; his parents were Walter and Amy Johnson; he married
7Diana L. Hamor on December 31, 1950 in Moline; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Robert Johnson was a graduate of Moline High
9School; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Robert Johnson served in the United States Army
11during the Korean War in the 399th Ordinance Battalion; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Robert Johnson was a Moline firefighter for ten
13years before going to work for John Deere Harvester as a
14product engineer, where he retired in 1987 after 27 1/2 years
15of service; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Robert Johnson was a member of Trinity Lutheran
17Church in Moline, the Rock Island Conservation Club, and the
18Thor Lodge #9 Independent Order of Vikings in Moline; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Robert Johnson enjoyed gardening, woodworking,

1fishing, hunting, his place on the river, and spending time
2with his family and friends; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Robert Johnson was preceded in death by his wife,
4Diana; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Johnson is survived by his children, Mike
6(Donna) Johnson, Douglas Johnson, Pam McDermott, and Deborah
7(William) O'Brien; his grandchildren, Tiffany (Josh) Basala,
8Tatum (Mike) Griffin, Chad (Sarah) Johnson, Sam McDermott, Max
9McDermott, Chelsea Johnson, Wyatt Johnson, Ava Johnson, Kailyn
10Green, and Connor Green; and his great-grandchildren, Bailey,
11Brody, Calvin, Nolan, Addy, and Myah; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
14family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert W. Johnson; and
15be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of Robert Johnson as an expression of
18our sympathy.
