SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert Reckamp of Crystal Lake, who
4passed away on February 25, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Reckamp was born on March 20, 1942 in
6Palatine; his parents were Claude and Margaret Reckamp; he was
7raised in Wheeling; he and his family moved to a farm in
8Harvard when he was 18 years old; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Reckamp became a journeyman electrician
10and served in the United States Marine Corps before working as
11an electrician for many years; he later served as the Regional
12Energy and Telecommunications Manager for J.C. Penney;
13following his retirement, he owned a car wash and managed his
14rental properties; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Robert Reckamp and his wife became members of St.
16Thomas the Apostle Church in 1969; he was a homebound minister
17and volunteered to do electrical work for the church; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Robert Reckamp enjoyed traveling both abroad and
19in the United States, having visited 21 countries and all 50
20states; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert Reckamp was preceded in death by his
2parents; his many aunts and uncles; his brothers, Herbert
3(Gerry) Reckamp, Kenneth Reckamp, Alan Reckamp, and Wayne
4Reckamp; his sisters, Florence Horcher and Eileen Kamis; his
5brother-in-law, Ed Nowak; his nieces, Gayle Photikarmbumrung
6and Anna Reckamp; and his nephew, Nicholas Nowak; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Robert Reckamp is survived by his wife, Paula
8Reckamp, whom he married on July 22, 1967; his children,
9Gregory (Julie) Reckamp, Michael (Meg) Reckamp, Laura (Bruce)
10Canaday, Steven (Erica) Reckamp, and Susan (Jon) Taylor; his
11grandchildren, Paul, Ellen, and Claudia Reckamp, Adam, Jason,
12Samuel, and Calvin Reckamp, Eric, Sean, Zachary, Erin, and
13Joanna Canaday, and Robert, Peter, Marybeth, and Margaret
14Reckamp; his siblings, Sister Alice Reckamp, Thomas (Linda)
15Reckamp, Ruth Ann (Kenneth) Conter, Melvin (Patricia) Reckamp,
16Margaret Nowak, and Norma (George) Laken; his sisters-in-law,
17Lien Reckamp, Jean Reckamp, and Monica Reckamp; his
18brothers-in-law, Ralph (Judi) Golnick, John (Linda) Horcher,
19and John (Jarmila) Kamis; and his many aunts, uncles, cousins,
20nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, and friends;
21therefore, be it
 
22    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
23ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
24family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert Reckamp; and be
