SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Donald M. Pfau, Jr. of Hampton, who
4passed away on March 1, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Pfau was born in Chicago to Donald M. and
6Beulah (Farver) Pfau, Sr. on July 5, 1923; he served in the
7United States Air Force during World War II; he earned his
8engineering degree from Iowa State University and married Betty
9Finley on March 17, 1950 at Watertown Baptist Church in East
10Moline; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Donald Pfau began his career at John Deere Planter
12Works on June 25, 1951; his 33 years with Deere & Company
13included assignments in a variety of engineering functions, and
14a progression of managerial positions at Planter Works, the
15Industrial Equipment Works, Deere & Company, and the European
16Office; during the nearly eight years in the European office,
17he and Betty lived in Heidelberg, Germany and traveled
18extensively throughout Europe; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Donald Pfau enjoyed golfing and playing cards with
20his buddies; he enjoyed woodworking with his son, Kenyon; his
21greatest joy was his grandchildren and he was an avid Chicago
22Cubs fan; and

1    WHEREAS, Donald Pfau was preceded in death by his parents
2and his son, Kenyon; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Donald Pfau is survived by his wife, Betty; his
4daughter, Jennifer (Sean) McGivern; his daughter-in-law,
5Brenda Pfau; his grandchildren, Drew (Natalie) Wayne, Ryan
6(Susan) McGivern, and Katie (Ryan) Ganshert; and his
7great-grandchildren, Kyler, Karter, Olivia, Liam, Brogan, and
8Salima; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Donald M. Pfau, Jr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Donald Pfau as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
