SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles L. Thompson of Moline, who passed
4away on February 20, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles Thompson was born on October 4, 1933 in
6Moline; his parents were Oddress and Mayme (nee Wiley)
7Thompson; he married Marilyn Ellis on July 5, 1953 in Moline;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Charles Thompson was a United States Marine who
10served in the Korean War; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Charles Thompson last worked at Quest Diagnostics
12in Davenport and had numerous and diverse interests and
13occupations throughout his life; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Charles Thompson enjoyed traveling, including his
15trips on cruise ships, making jewelry, cars, and magic tricks;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Charles Thompson was preceded in death by his
18sons, Gary, Walter, and Chucky Thompson; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Charles Thompson is survived by his wife, Marilyn;

1his daughters, Faith Duszak and Hope Douglas; his 6
2grandchildren; his 14 great-grandchildren; and his sister,
3Emma (Jerry) Wynes; therefore, be it
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Charles L. Thompson;
7and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to the family of Charles Thompson as an expression of
10our sympathy.
