SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William Webster Hamilton of Rock Island,
4who passed away on January 24, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Hamilton was born on December 24, 1921;
6his parents were William Monroe and Grace Pansy (nee Stolba)
7Hamilton; he married Janyce B. Stone in 1945; he married Ursula
8Kratochwill in 1986; and
 
9    WHEREAS, William Hamilton graduated from high school in
10Marion, Iowa, in 1940; he then joined the United States Navy in
111942 and fought in the Pacific Theater; he was discharged in
121945; in June of 1950, he re-enlisted during the Korean War;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, William Hamilton attended Coe College in Cedar
15Rapids from 1948 to 1949; and
 
16    WHEREAS, William Hamilton was employed by Colonial Bakery,
17followed by a supervisory position at Harvest Day Bakery; he
18retired in 1986; and
 
19    WHEREAS, William Hamilton enjoyed spending time with his
20family, playing the accordion, building bird houses, and

1traveling with his wife, Ursula; and
 
2    WHEREAS, William Hamilton was preceded in death by his
3parents; his first wife, Janyce Byrdena (nee Stone) Hamilton;
4and his brothers, John and James Hamilton; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Hamilton is survived by his wife, Ursula
6Hamilton; his children, Jill (David) Linder, Kim Hamilton, Jan
7(Dean Ryan) Mossage, and Sue (Rick) Hamilton-Petty; his
8stepchildren, Renata (Warren) Lucas and Carmen (Greg) Beice;
9his 8 grandchildren; his 6 step-grandchildren; his 18
10great-grandchildren; and his 6 great-great-grandchildren;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
14family and friends, mourn the passing of William Webster
15Hamilton; and be it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of William Hamilton as an expression of
18our sympathy.
