SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Harry L. Vroman, who passed away on
4January 19, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Harry Vroman was born on September 14, 1923 in
6Hillsdale; his parents were John and Margaret Scheff Vroman; he
7married Mary Margaret Rock on March 17, 1948 in Geneseo; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Harry Vroman served his country in the United
9States Army Air Corps during World War II in the European
10Theater; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Harry Vroman worked as a machine operator for
12International Harvester until his retirement in 1983 after 28
13years of service; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Harry Vroman was a member of Hillsdale United
15Methodist Church, a member, Commander, and chaplain of the
16Veterans of Foreign Wars in Geneseo, and commander of the
17Hillsdale Legion; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Harry Vroman enjoyed hunting, fishing, and
19collecting cans and donating the proceeds to the church for the
20kids; he was also honored to go on one of the first Honor

1Flights from the Quad-Cities and cherished that trip; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Harry Vroman was preceded in death by his parents;
3his wife, Mary; his siblings, Carroll, Lawrence, Ruby, Evelyn,
4Ralph, Gladys, and Butch; his son, Alan Vroman; and his
5great-grandson, Joshua Vroman; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Harry Vroman is survived by his children, Ron
7(Sue) Vroman, Kevin (Trina) Vroman, and Ruth Anne (Bill) Klotz;
8his siblings, Marian (Gil) Klockengea, Viola (Bob) Dennis, Bob
9(Karen) Vroman, Dale (Jody) Vroman, Mae Croft, and Alice
10Twilligear; his grandchildren, Craig, Chad, Linda, Jim,
11William, Katherine, Eric, Tyler, Cody, and Parker; and his
12great-grandchildren, Jacob, Sam, Rebekah, Jensen, Wyatt,
13Billy, Kyle, Lisa, Sophia, and Emma; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
16family and friends, mourn the passing of Harry L. Vroman; and
17be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Harry Vroman as an expression of our
20sympathy.
