SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Kenneth K. Pfaff of Rock Island, who
4passed away on November 4, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth Pfaff was born in Rock Island on July 19,
61945 to Keith and Johanna (nee Kosla) Pfaff; he graduated from
7Rock Island High School, where he played football; he married
8Linda Larsen on May 3, 1975 at Broadway Presbyterian Church in
9Rock Island; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Kenneth Pfaff served in the United States Army
11during the Vietnam War, flying the "Huey" UH-1 Iroquois and
12OH13A Sioux helicopters for medevac operations; he was promoted
13to the rank of Captain and awarded the Bronze Star and Air
14Medal for his support of Ground Operations Against Hostile
15Forces; after being discharged, he joined the Iowa National
16Guard Reserves in Davenport, Iowa; when he joined the reserves
17he chose to drop his ranking so he could keep flying Chinook
18helicopters; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Kenneth Pfaff was preceded in death by his parents
20and his sister, Doris Ann Reilly; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Kenneth Pfaff is survived by his wife of 39 years,

1Linda Pfaff; his 2 sons, Jonathan (Jennifer) Pfaff and Will
2(Jennifer) Pfaff; his 6 grandchildren, Lillian, Blaker,
3Carter, Sydney, Grace, and Morgan; and his mother-in-law, Joan
4Larsen; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Kenneth K. Pfaff, and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Kenneth Pfaff as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
