SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Nathan Luten of East Moline, who passed
4away on January 12, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Nathan Luten was born on March 22, 1931 in Oakton,
6Kentucky; his parents were Nathan Carrie and Sadie Nell
7Blakemore Luten; he married Mary E. Johnson on July 24, 1956 in
8Paducah, Kentucky; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Nathan Luten served his country in the United
10States Marine Corps and was a Korean War veteran; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Nathan Luten retired from International
12Harvester, where he worked on the assembly line and utility
13line for engines, after 20 years of service; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Nathan Luten enjoyed working on cars, fishing,
15tinkering in his garage, and spending time with his
16grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Nathan Luten is preceded in death by his parents;
18his wife, Mary; his son, Mitchel Ray; and his granddaughter,
19Tiffany; and

1    WHEREAS, Nathan Luten is survived by his children, Harold
2David Luten, Marisa Luten, Linnette Luten, and Terry L. Luten;
3his 12 grandchildren; and his 22 great-grandchildren;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Nathan Luten; and be
8it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of Nathan Luten as an expression of our
11sympathy.
