SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Carl D. Hodson of Rock Island, who passed
4away on November 17, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Carl Hodson was born on January 13, 1931 in Milan;
6his parents were Benjamin L. and Irene O. Kimble Hodson; he
7married Mary Samuelson on January 25, 1964; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Carl Hodson played minor league baseball for the
9San Jose Red Sox before being drafted into the United States
10Army, where he served during the Korean War; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Carl Hodson owned Corner Tap in Rock Island for 20
12years, selling the tavern in 1998; he also sold cars for 27
13years for Eriksen Chevrolet in Milan and spent several years as
14a volunteer fireman for the Blackhawk Fire Department in Milan;
15and
 
16    WHEREAS, Carl Hodson was a past member of Davenport Elks
17Lodge No. 298 and the Milan Lions Club; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Carl Hodson enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling,
19and golfing; and

1    WHEREAS, Carl Hodson was preceded in death by his parents;
2a step-granddaughter; his brother, Benjamin F. Hodson; and his
3sister, Eileen Booton; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Carl Hodson is survived by his wife, Mary Hodson;
5his daughters, Marla (Chris) Frost, Robyn (Trace) Bentley, and
6Carla (Michael) Schmidt; his 2 step-children; his grandsons,
7Logan and Jake Frost and Ross Bentley; his granddaughter,
8Jordan Bentley, and his 8 other grandchildren; his 10
9great-grandchildren; his brother-in-law, Roy Booton; and his
10many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
13family and friends, mourn the passing of Carl D. Hodson; and be
14it further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Carl Hodson as an expression of our
17sympathy.
