SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Joseph L. McCaffrey of Silvis, who passed
4away on November 2, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey was born on July 4, 1927 in
6Quincy; his parents were Sydney and Lee Edna Groce McCaffrey;
7he married Betty Margaret Clifton on June 11, 1950 in
8Davenport, Iowa; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey worked as a supervisor in Tool &
10Dye for John Deere Harvester Works for many years until his
11retirement in 1985; following his retirement, he worked at the
12Rock Island Arsenal from 1986 to 1991; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey proudly served in the United
14States Army at the end of World War II during the Occupation of
15Japan; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey was preceded in death by his
17parents and his loving wife, Betty; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Joseph McCaffrey is survived by his daughters,
19Norma (Charles) Nagle, Barbara (Gary) Losey, and Carol (Robert)
20Ariss; his grandchildren, Keith Nagle, Kevin Nagle, Kathy

1Donnelly, Julie Finley, Bobby Ariss, Elizabeth Ariss, Tim
2Losey, and Janelle West; his great-grandchildren, Kaleb Nagle,
3Ronan Donnelly, Shaeley Donnelly, Kira Finley, Kendrack
4Finley, Joshua Losey, Emily West, Tyler West, Dylan West, and
5Titus Nagle; and his brother, W. Merle McCaffrey; therefore, be
6it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Joseph L. McCaffrey;
10and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Joseph McCaffrey as an expression of
13our sympathy.
