SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William Elmer Lee Nickell of Hampton, who
4passed away on October 15, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Nickell was born in Lineville, Iowa on
6November 12, 1931 to Bertie and Ellen (nee Davis) Nickell; he
7spent the first half of his life in the Mercer, Missouri and
8the Lineville, Iowa areas; he served in the United States Army;
9he married Joan Fair, and they had 2 daughters, Linda Lea and
10Deborah Miann; he later married Diane Neely and gained 3
11step-children, Michael, Debbie, and Robert; and
 
12    WHEREAS, William Nickell worked at Hy-Vee and owned the
13service station in Mercer; he eventually retired from J.I.
14Case; and
 
15    WHEREAS, William Nickell had a love of yard mowing and
16always had a huge garden and loved sharing his bounty; he was
17an avid fisherman and mushroom hunter; and
 
18    WHEREAS, William Nickell was preceded in death by his
19mother; his father; his sister, Lannie; his brother, J.B.; his
20first wife, Joan; his second wife, Diane; his stepson, Mike;
21and his daughter, Linda Lea; and

1    WHEREAS, William Nickell is survived by his daughter,
2Deborah Weber; his son-in-law, John (Maureen) Carter; his
3grandkids, Donald (Crystal) Carter, John (Yadira) Carter,
4Tanya (Eugene) Roman, Ronald (Nikki) Carter, Gregory Weber,
5Mianna Kirk, Amy Weber, and Brittany (Kraig Karzin) Weber; his
6great-grandkids, Mackenzie, Hannah, Emery, and Kya Lynn; his
7best friend, Paco (his dog); his brother, Raymond (Darla), and
8their family; his sister-in-law, Anna, and her family; and his
9step-children, Debbie and Robert, and their kids and grandkids;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13William Elmer Lee Nickell, and extend our sincere condolences
14to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
15it further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of William Nickell as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
