SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard E. Lind, M.D. of Woodstock, who
4passed away on September 27, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Dr. Lind was born in Princeton on October 9, 1951
6to Ellis and Vivian (nee Jenner) Lind; he graduated with a
7chemistry degree from the University of Illinois at
8Urbana-Champaign and later attended medical school at the
9University of Illinois at Chicago; he married Joanne Hoeft on
10June 12, 1976 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in
11Naperville; he completed his surgical residency and vascular
12fellowship at the University of Iowa; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Dr. Lind moved to Woodstock in 1983; he founded
14Surgical Associates of Fox Valley in Crystal Lake; he was a
15member of the medical staff at Centegra Hospitals in Woodstock
16and McHenry and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington;
17over his 33 years, he has served as President of the medical
18staff, Chief of Surgery, and Chief Trauma Director at both
19Centegra Hospital-Woodstock and McHenry; he was a hospital
20board member and Chairman of the Cancer Committee; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Dr. Lind faithfully attended his 4 sons' sporting
22events throughout their school years, rarely missing a game

1despite a rigorous schedule; he enjoyed rooting for Chicago
2sports teams and took pleasure in working in his garden; he
3loved music and playing the piano and the trumpet; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Dr. Lind was preceded in death by his father,
5Ellis; his in-laws, Walter and Sophia Hoeft; and his sister,
6Diane Nyman; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Dr. Lind is survived by his of wife of 39 years,
8Joanne; his sons, Thomas (Karlyn), Michael (Jennifer),
9Timothy, and Jeffrey; his mother, Vivian; his brother, Donald
10(Susan); his sister, Denise (James) Guinn; and his 17 nieces
11and nephews; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Richard E. Lind, M.D., and extend our sincere condolences to
15his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Dr. Lind as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
