SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of George E. MacFarlane of Moline, who
4passed away on October 2, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, George MacFarlane was born on February 28, 1932 in
6East Dubuque; his parents were George L. and Esther Ziegler
7MacFarlane; he married Rose Marie Kopatich on June 20, 1959 in
8Rock Island; she passed away in 1991; he married Janet Nagel on
9November 7, 1998 in Silvis; and
 
10    WHEREAS, George MacFarlane served as a member of the United
11States Army during the Korean Conflict; and
 
12    WHEREAS, George MacFarlane was a lithographer; he retired
13from the DeSaulniers Printing Company in 1994 after 36 years of
14service; and
 
15    WHEREAS, George MacFarlane was preceded in death by his
16parents; his first wife, Rose Marie; his sisters, Esther and
17Joyce; and his brother, David; and
 
18    WHEREAS, George MacFarlane is survived by his wife, Jan
19MacFarlane; his sons, George E. (Yvonne) MacFarlane, Shawn
20(Leah) MacFarlane, and Douglas MacFarlane; his stepson, Mark

1Nagel; his 8 grandchildren; his 3 great-grandchildren; his
2sister, Mary (Ken) Fluhr; his brothers, Robert MacFarlane and
3Michael (Kathy) MacFarlane; and his sister-in-law, Kathy
4MacFarlane; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
7family and friends, mourn the passing of George E. MacFarlane;
8and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
10presented to the family of George MacFarlane as an expression
11of our sympathy.
