SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marshall E. Beals of Hampton, who passed
4away on September 21, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marshall Beals was born on November 22, 1924 in
6Moline; his parents were William C. and Agnes Engh Beals; he
7married Bobbie Reinhold on October 22, 1960 in Peoria; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Marshall Beals worked as a tool designer for the
9Rock Island Arsenal for many years until his retirement on
10April 1, 1988; he also worked at Reynolds Engineering; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Marshall Beals proudly served as a bombardier on a
12B-24 Liberator in the United States Navy during World War II;
13he served with the VPB 117 squadron, known as the Blue Raiders;
14he enjoyed reunions with his squadron for many years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Marshall Beals was a graduate of Rock Island High
16School and the University of Iowa; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Marshall Beals enjoyed golf and was a Chicago
18Bears fan; he was also a member of the Hampton Historical
19Society and loved spending time with his dog, Sonny; and

1    WHEREAS, Marshall Beals was preceded in death by his
2parents; his granddaughter, Dana Beals; and his brother,
3Richard Beals; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Marshall Beals is survived by his wife, Bobbie;
5his sons, Daniel (Cathy) Beals, Bill (Cheryl) Beals, and James
6M. Beals; his grandchildren, Danny Beals, Mark Beals, and Nikki
7Beals; his 9 great-grandchildren; and his lifelong friend,
8Ralph Slentz; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
11family and friends, mourn the passing of Marshall E. Beals; and
12be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Marshall Beals as an expression of
15our sympathy.
