SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Eddie L. McCann, Sr. of Chicago; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Eddie McCann, Sr. was appointed Assistant Chief of
5the Markham facility by the Sheriff of Cook County, James
6O'Grady; he worked there for over 20 years and enjoyed
7counseling offenders and offering advice on how to better their
8lives; he also worked for 30 years for the Chicago Housing
9Authority as Chief Operating Engineer; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Eddie McCann, Sr. was a dedicated deacon and a
11devoted churchman for 78 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Eddie McCann, Sr. was affectionately known as the
13"Executive Chef"; his most popular entree was a large pot of
14greens with turkey meat; it had many relatives and friends
15speeding their way to his home for a fabulous meal; many asked
16for carry-outs; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Eddie McCann, Sr. was preceded in death by his
18wife; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Eddie McCann, Sr. is survived by his daughter,
20Annette Wiggins (Roy); his 2 sons, Eddie L. McCann, Jr.

1(Annette) and Bernard P., Sr. (Cynthia); his brother, Arthur L.
2(Alice); his sister, Lee Ethel Franklin; his 10 grandchildren;
3more than 32 great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and
4nephews; and many surrogate children; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Eddie L. McCann, Sr., and extend our sincere condolences to his
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Eddie McCann, Sr. as an expression
12of our deepest sympathy.
