SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Donald J. Edmonds of Rock Island, who
4passed away on August 8, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Donald Edmonds was born on November 9, 1935 in
6Rock Island; his parents were Emerson and Ethel Schumacher
7Edmonds; he married Bonnie Mewes on January 8, 1968 in
8Rockford; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Donald Edmonds served his country as a member of
10the United States Army; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Donald Edmonds worked at the Alcoa Davenport Works
12for 25 years until his retirement in August of 1990; after his
13retirement, he worked as the sexton at Trinity Anglican Church
14in Rock Island for several years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Donald Edmonds was a member of Sacred Heart
16Catholic Church in Rock Island; he enjoyed watching sporting
17events and attending his grandchildren's baseball games; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Donald Edmonds was preceded in death by his
19parents; his wife, Bonnie; his grandsons, Roy McDonnell, Jr.
20and Nik Edmonds; a brother, Bill Edmonds; and a sister, Pat

2    WHEREAS, Donald Edmonds is survived by his children, Debbie
3(Roy) McDonnell, Sr., Brenda Chewning, Julie McElroy, Cheryl
4(Steve) Reist, Theresa (Mark) Lucas, Sr., Tawnya Schroeder,
5Steve (Mikki) Edmonds, and Kelly (Dean) Behrens; 12
6grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 3 siblings, Jeanne
7Heater, Lois (Rick) Czupka, and Kathy (Jim) Williams; and a
8special friend, Hazel Wakeland; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
11family and friends, mourn the passing of Donald J. Edmonds; and
12be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Donald Edmonds as an expression of
15our sympathy.
