SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Robert L. Squires, Sr. of Moline, who
4passed away on July 22, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Robert Squires, Sr. was born on May 22, 1935 in
6Quincy; his parents were Walter P. Squires and Pearlena
7(Charles) Bigsby Lang; he married Mary E. Williams on December
812, 1955 in Moline; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Robert Squires, Sr. graduated from Moline High
10School with the Class of 1953; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Robert Squires, Sr. served his country as a member
12of the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Robert Squires, Sr. was a member of Bricklayers
14Local #6 in Rock Island for 57 years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Robert Squires, Sr. was an active member of
16Edgewood Baptist Church in Rock Island; he loved woodworking,
17outdoor yard work, bricklaying, and music; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Robert Squires, Sr. is survived by his wife, Mary;
194 children, Robert L. Squires, Jr., Curtis "Jay" (Deanna)

2grandchildren, Robert Squires, III (Kaylynn), Abigail (Neal)

5Olivia Bush, and Charlee Ann (expected October 2015); his
6dearest friends, Ryan, Shannon, and Regan LaPay; and his
74-legged buddy, Major Bob; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
10family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert L. Squires,
11Sr.; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Robert Squires, Sr. as an expression
14of our sympathy.
