SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald J. Welch of Moline, who passed
4away on June 22, 2015; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ronald Welch was born on December 11, 1926 in
6Buffalo Prairie; his parents were James and Ella Beard Welch;
7he married Darlene VanDeVelde on September 25, 1948 in Moline;
8and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ronald Welch served his country as a member of the
10United States Marine Corps during World War II, serving 18
11months in the Pacific theatre; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ronald Welch retired from the Illinois State
13Police as a trooper in 1979 after many years of service; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ronald Welch was a member of St. Mary's Catholic
15Church in Moline, the Friends Circle Club, Veterans of Foreign
16Wars Post 2153, and the Moline and Retired State Troopers
17Associations; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ronald Welch was an avid golfer and had several
19holes in one; and

1    WHEREAS, Ronald Welch was preceded in death by his wife,
2Darlene; a daughter, Cynthia Camery; a brother, Bernard; and 4
3sisters, Wilma, Maxine, Martha, and Phyllis; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Ronald Welch is survived by a son, Michael (Linda)
5Welch; a son-in-law, William Camery; 4 grandchildren, Michelle
6Welch Gemignani, Kelly (Lenny) Young, Mark (Elizabeth)
7Stewart, and Nathan Camery; 4 great-grandchildren, Keeley,
8Peter, Zachary, and Xander; and a special friend, Rose
9Berhenke; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his
12family and friends, mourn the passing of Ronald J. Welch; and
13be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Ronald Welch as an expression of our
16sympathy.
