SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Marguerite D. Van Ness of Algonquin, who
4passed away on December 2, 2014; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marguerite Van Ness worked as a philatelic writer
6for Scott Stamp and Coin Company in New York City from 1942 to
71947; she also worked for Richardson Publications as
8editor-in-chief; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Marguerite Van Ness was the recipient of a letter
10of recognition from the Free French Army during World War II
11and was listed in the Who's Who of American Women in 1978; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Marguerite Van Ness was preceded in death by her
13husband of 59 years, Robert Van Ness, Sr.; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Marguerite Van Ness is survived by 3 children,
15Marguerite Van Ness, Jr., Roberta Elmore, and Robert C. Van
16Ness, Jr.; 4 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren;
17therefore, be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL
19ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her
20family and friends, mourn the passing of Marguerite D. Van

2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3presented to the family of Marguerite Van Ness as an expression
4of our sympathy.
