    Amends the Public Community College Act. Provides that the ICCB Adult Education Fund and the Career and Technical Education Fund are federal funds (instead of special funds) in the State treasury. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning education.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended by
5changing Sections 2-16.06 and 2-16.07 as follows:
 
6    (110 ILCS 805/2-16.06)
7    Sec. 2-16.06. ICCB Adult Education Fund. The ICCB Adult
8Education Fund is created as a federal special fund in the
9State treasury. All money in the ICCB Adult Education Fund may
10be used, subject to appropriation, by the State Board for
11operational expenses associated with the administration of
12adult education and literacy activities and for the payment of
13costs associated with education and educational-related
14services to local eligible providers for adult education and
15literacy as provided by the United States Department of
16Education.

19    Sec. 2-16.07. Career and Technical Education Fund. The
20Career and Technical Education Fund is created as a federal
21special fund in the State treasury. The Comptroller shall order

1Federal Department of Education Fund into the Career and
2Technical Education Fund such amounts as may be directed in
3writing by the State Board of Education. All moneys so
4deposited into the Career and Technical Education Fund may be
5used, subject to appropriation, by the State Board for
6operational expenses associated with the administration of
7Career and Technical Education, for payment of Career and
8Technical Education grants to colleges, and for payment of
9costs relating to State leadership activities, as provided by
10the United States Department of Education.
