1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Department of Agriculture Law of the Civil
5Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by changing Section
6205-15 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 205/205-15)  (was 20 ILCS 205/40.7 and 205/40.8)
8    Sec. 205-15. Promotional activities.
9    (a) The Department has the power to encourage and promote,
10in every practicable manner, the interests of agriculture,
11including horticulture, the livestock industry, dairying,
12cheese making, poultry, bee keeping, forestry, the production
13of wool, and all other allied industries. In furtherance of the
14duties set forth in this subsection (a), the Department may
15establish trust funds and bank accounts in adequately protected
16financial institutions to receive and disburse monies in
17connection with the conduct of food shows, food expositions,
18trade shows, and other promotional activities and to sell at
19cost, to qualified applicants, signs designating farms that
20have been owned for 100 years or more, or 150 years or more, or
21200 years or more by lineal or collateral descendants of the
22same family as "Centennial Farms", or "Sesquicentennial
23Farms", or "Bicentennial Farms" respectively. The Department

1shall provide applications for the signs, which shall be
2submitted with the required fee. "Centennial Farms", and
3"Sesquicentennial Farms", and "Bicentennial Farms" signs shall
4not contain within their design the name, picture, or other
5likeness of any elected public official or any appointed public
6official.
7    (b) The Department has the power to promote improved
8methods of conducting the several industries described in
9subsection (a) with a view to increasing the production and
10facilitating the distribution thereof at the least cost.

13    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
14becoming law.
