HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate 16-year-old Riley Elmore of West Dundee on becoming one of the Top 20 finalists on the television show "The Voice"; and

WHEREAS, Riley Elmore was born on May 1, 2000 to Michael and Joan Elmore; he has a sister, Lily; and

WHEREAS, Riley Elmore attended Immanuel Lutheran School in East Dundee and is now a junior at Dundee Crown High School in Carpentersville; and

WHEREAS, Riley Elmore developed a passion for music, especially jazz, at an early age and began playing the trombone in the fourth grade; and

WHEREAS, When Riley Elmore joined his school's jazz band he quickly discovered a passion for the music of Frank Sinatra and when he performs he wears a pin given to him by his grandparents, that features Sinatra quotes; and

WHEREAS, During his freshman year of high school, Riley Elmore began to explore his talent as a vocal musician; and

WHEREAS, In 2016, Riley Elmore auditioned and was chosen to participate in the 11th season of NBC's "The Voice" on "Team Adam Levine" after executing a wonderful rendition of Frank Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight"; and

WHEREAS, Riley Elmore advanced through the first three rounds on The Voice and became a Top 20 contestant; and

WHEREAS, Riley displayed maturity beyond his years on stage and represented Kane County, the Village of West Dundee, and Dundee Crown High School very well; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Riley Elmore on his performance on "The Voice" and his advancement to the Top 20; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Riley Elmore and his family as a symbol of our esteem, respect and admiration.
