HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mary
4Louise Clark of Peoria, who passed away on August 19, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mary Clark was born on November 18, 1941 in
6Peoria; her parents were Arthur Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Crooks;
7she married Sammy Lee Clark, Sr. on December 20, 1980; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Mary Clark retired as a material control
9specialist at Caterpillar, Inc. after 30 years of service; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Mary Clark was an active member and Past Worthy
11Matron of the Silver Star Chapter 74 Order Eastern Star, Prince
12Hall Affiliated of the State of Illinois and its Jurisdiction,
13Past Loyal Lady Ruler of Menelik Assembly #58 Order of the
14Golden Circle, and Past Illustrious Commandress of Kamar Court
15# 113 of Springfield; she was also a faithful member of New
16Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she was an usher,
17and a faithful member of the United Usher Board; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Mary Clark enjoyed spending time with her family,
19cooking, and traveling; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Mary Clark is preceded in death by her parents;

1two brothers; and two grandsons; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Mary Clark is survived by her husband, Sammy L.
3Clark, Sr.; her daughters, Alisa (Robert) Hinton, Veronica
4Watson, Virginia Clark, Vanetta Watson, and Luciana Baker; her
5sons, Curtis A. Crooks and Sammy L. Clark, Jr.; her sister,
6Eunice Crooks; her brother, Tony Crooks; her stepmother,
7Lillian Crooks; 32 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and
8great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other
9relatives, and friends; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of
13Mary Louise Clark; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Mary Clark as an expression of our
16sympathy.
