HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Floyd L.
4Nolan of Peoria, who passed away on May 17, 2016; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan was born in Peoria to Fred Earl and
6Dorothy Louise (Thompson) Nolan on July 29, 1934; he married
7Charlotte Jean Lonsdale on June 9, 1956; he later married
8Bernadine Hughes in Peoria on August 28, 1994; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan worked many years as a self-employed
10plaster contractor; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan was very involved with his community
12and was his neighborhood advocate for over 20 years; he served
13as the President of the Day Spring Park Columbia Terrace North
14Neighborhood Association and was a member of the West Bluff
15Council and the Peoria Neighborhood Alliance Association; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan was a member of the Twin Oaks
17Missionary Baptist Church in East Peoria; he enjoyed gardening
18and participated in community gardening; he also loved to fish;
19and
 
20    WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan was preceded in death by his parents;

1three brothers; two sisters; and one great-grandson; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Floyd Nolan is survived by his second wife,
3Bernadine; his daughters, Cathleen (Harold) Ludolph, Sherrie
4Blasingim, and Paula Lutrell; his sons, Gerry (Betsy) Nolan and
5Bradley (Mary) Nolan; his stepdaughter, Drusilla (Robert)
6Stanard; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and several
7nieces and nephews, including Robbin Lynn Kost, who helped in
8his care; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
10NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
11mourn the passing of Floyd L. Nolan, and extend our sincere
12condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
13him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Floyd Nolan as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
