HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, On August 11, 1916, the State of Illinois
3incorporated the Rosecrance Memorial Home for Children, an
4organization that cared for neglected and dependent children in
5New Milford; and
 
6    WHEREAS, In an effort to expand the growing need for
7services, Rosecrance relocated to Rockford, where, in the first
8of many shifts to serve the changing needs of the community, it
9started serving youth with behavioral disorders; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Upon recognizing that teenagers were struggling
11with substance use, Rosecrance started a first of its kind
12chemical dependency treatment program in northern Illinois in
131982; the program began serving adults in 1992; and
 
14    WHEREAS, In 2011, Rosecrance recognized the importance of
15integrating addiction and mental health treatment by merging
16with the Janet Wattles Center; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Today, Rosecrance provides help, hope, and
18recovery to more than 22,000 children, adolescents, adults, and
19families each year at more than 40 locations in Illinois and
20Wisconsin; and

1    WHEREAS, Rosecrance is a leading national provider of
2behavioral health services and will offer the best opportunity
3for lasting recovery for many more years to come; therefore, be
4it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
7congratulate the employees and administration of Rosecrance on
8the occasion of the organization's 100th anniversary and wish
9them great success in the future; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to Rosecrance as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
