HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Lynn Scott Pearson on the
4occasion of her retirement from both the Peoria County Board
5and the Peoria County Democratic Women; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Lynn Scott Pearson has been a member of the Peoria
7County Board since 1984; she has served as Chairman, winning
8the position on the first roll call by a vote of 12 to 6;
9throughout her tenure on the Board, she has served on the
10following committees: Tax, Health Services, Land Use,
11Management Services, Position Evaluation, Administrator
12Search, and Administrator Evaluation; she is proudest of her
13work on the county's lead abatement program; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Lynn Scott Pearson has been with the Peoria County
15Democratic Women for 25 years; she received a NOW (National
16Organization for Women) award in March of 2013; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Lynn Scott Pearson has an extensive background in
18community service; she has served as President of the Board of
19Directors for Friendship House and as Chairperson of the
20Tri-County Regional Planning Commission; she has also served as
21a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program Advisory
22Council and as the President of the Peoria County Democratic

1Women Committee; she serves as the Vice-President of the Peoria
2Opportunities Foundation Board; she is Chairperson of the
3Peoria County Chapter of the National Democratic County
4Officials Organization; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Lynn Scott Pearson is retired from Caterpillar,
6Inc.; she was a member of United Auto Workers Local 974;
7therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
10congratulate Lynn Scott Pearson on her retirement from the
11Peoria County Board and the Peoria County Democratic Women and
12we wish her the best in all her future endeavors; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to Lynn Scott Pearson as an expression of our esteem
16and respect.
