HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Aurilee "Lee" J. Schenck
4on the occasion of her 50 years of dedicated service as a Rock
5Island community banker; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Aurilee Schenck's entire professional career has
7been devoted to serving the financial requirements of Rock
8Island customers at 2 Rock Island banks; she began her career
9in 1965 as a clerk, manually sorting customers' paper checks
10presented for payment before the introduction of automated
11processes at the former Rock Island Bank and Trust Company; she
12was subsequently promoted to the positions of Bookkeeping
13Supervisor and Operations Officer; and
 
14    WHEREAS, In the early 1970s, the Rock Island Bank and Trust
15Company changed its name to The Rock Island Bank; Aurilee
16Schenck continued to serve in various officer capacities at the
17bank, including Personnel Officer, Customer Service Officer,
18and Assistant Vice President Branch Manager in 1985; she became
19the first female Vice President of the bank when the Board
20appointed her to serve as Vice President of Retail Banking;
21from 1993 to 1998, she served as the bank's Vice President of
22Community and Employee Relations; after the bank was sold in
23November of 1998, she joined American Bank and Trust Company,

1N.A. in May of 1999; she currently serves as an Assistant Vice
2President/Personal Banker at American Bank and Trust Company's
3Rock Island Hilltop office and as Branch Manager of the Rock
4Island Friendship Manor office; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Over the years, Aurilee Schenck has been very
6involved in her community; she served as President of the local
7Quad Cities chapter of the Bank Administration Institute, a
8board member of the Rock Island Chamber of Commerce and a
9Chamber Ambassador for 20 years at various events, a board
10member of the Administrative Management Society, Bethany Home,
11Hearts & Hammers, and the Quad Cities United Way, a 27-year
12member of the Rock Island Kiwanis Club and the Club's first
13woman president, and a volunteer mentor of children with the
14local Big Brothers/Big Sisters program for 10 years; she was
15also recognized by the City of Rock Island in an announcement
16on August 12, 2015 as a co-winner in the individual
17professional category for the City's annual Citizen of the Year
18awards; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Aurilee Schenck serves as a model of hard work,
20integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of
21Illinois; therefore, be it
 
22    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
23NINETY-NINTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

1congratulate Aurilee "Lee" J. Schenck on the occasion of her 50
2years of dedicated service and wish her continued success and
3happiness in the future; and be it further
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5presented to Aurilee Schenck as a symbol of our esteem and
6respect.
